Prospect Charter School Preschool Program

Thank you for your interest in our preschool program! We look forward to learning with your child! The goal of the Prospect Charter School Preschool Program is to prepare 4-year-old students for kindergarten the following academic year. We provide an environment rich in opportunities for students to learn through play and positive social interactions. We utilize the Growing Readers Early Literacy Curriculum that introduces students to concepts of print, and focuses on phonemic and phonological awareness. A program called ABC Phonics: Sign with Me is an additional program we use to introduce letters in a fun, interactive way. Also, singing, arts and crafts, and science are integrated into daily activities.

We offer two preschool classes each day:

Students may attend one of two classes: AM or PM.

The AM class is 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m., Monday-Thursday. Students can eat breakfast and lunch at the school free of charge. Students can ride the bus to school but not home. They need to be picked up each day at 11:00 in the cafeteria.

The PM class is 12:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday. Students may eat lunch at the school at 12:00. Students need to be dropped off in the cafeteria and may ride the bus home.

In order to enroll a child in preschool they must be:

  • Four years old by the first day of the school year (3-year-olds may be accepted to fill the PM class based on availability)
  • Potty Trained

Registering your child:

The school registrar will maintain a list of students interested in attending school. Your child’s name will be placed on the list when a completed registration packet is returned to the school. Registration packets are available for pickup at the school office or by emailing lacyt@prospect.k12.or.us. Registration is prioritized by age, then occurs on a first come, first served basis. The maximum class size is eight. Students may be put onto a waiting list if the classes are full.
