Prospect Charter School Preschool Program

Thank you for your interest in our preschool program!  We look forward to learning with your child! The goal of the Prospect Charter School Preschool Program is to prepare 4- year- old students for kindergarten the following academic year.  We provide an environment rich in opportunities for students to learn through play and positive social interactions. We utilize the Growing Readers Early Literacy Curriculum that introduces students to concepts of print, and focuses on phonemic and phonological awareness. A program called ABC Phonics: Sign with Me is an additional program we use to introduce letters in a fun, interactive way.  Also, singing, arts and crafts, and science are integrated into daily activities.

The AM class typically runs from 8:00-11:00 Monday-Thursday. The students can eat breakfast and lunch at the school free of charge. The students can ride the bus to school but not home. They need to be picked up each day at 11:00 in the cafeteria.

The PM class (if offered) runs from 12:00-3:15 Monday-Thursday. The students may eat lunch at the school at 12:00. The students need to be dropped off in the cafeteria and may ride the bus home.

In order to enroll a child in preschool they must be:

  • Four years old by the first day of the school year (3-year-olds may be accepted to fill the PM class based on availability)
  • Potty Trained

Registering your child:

The preschool teacher will maintain a list of students interested in attending school.  Your child’s name will be placed on the list when a registration packet is filled out and returned to the school. Registration is available online beginning in March. Registration occurs on a first come, first served basis.

We offer AM and PM classes if there are enough students to fill both classes. The AM class is filled first and then the PM class.

Wait List:

Students may be put onto a waiting list if the class/classes are full. The maximum number of students per class is eight (another student may be added if another class is not available).  Registration forms need to be filled out online to have your child placed on the wait list.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school or the Preschool Teacher.
